Creatives Carving Wishes!
GUTS is a pumpkin carving competition hosted by AIGA Blue Ridge to benefit Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic. It is a community-wide event that attracts the finest creative talent in the area as well as the support of generous individuals and local businesses. The primary goal of the event is to unify the creative community in support of a worthy and meaningful charity, Make-A-Wish.
GUTS was created by CRAFTED, a marketing agency in Charlotte, NC in 2009. We are very excited to launch the GUTS event in the Mid-Atlantic region this October 28, 2017 at Everedy Square and Shab Row. Everedy Square and Shab Row is a two-block neighborhood of more than 30 specialty shops, eateries and services located in historic downtown Frederick, MD.
As you may know, Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions in DC, Maryland, northern Virginia and southern Delaware. For a child with a life-threatening medical condition, a wish experience can give back what the illness takes away. It can help children forget about being sick, remember how to be kids, laugh out loud and inspire them to keep making plans for the future. AIGA Blue Ridge is committed to helping Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic grant the wishes of children in our local community.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN BEING A CARVER!
The competition is open to the public, local and regional creative professionals – designers, developers, art directors, artists, architects, photographers, and more – that want to test their pumpkin carving skills, and more importantly, raise money for the brave kids of Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic. We raise money through the carver's registration fees and the silent auction at the event. For those who can't make it or would like to do a little extra, we invite anyone, anywhere, to contribute to a wish by donating.
Competitors can sign up as an individual or recruit a team of up to 3 people (individual registration is per person, team registration is per team). Either way, each person—or team—must provide their own pumpkin(s) and carving tools.
100% of registration fees will be donated to Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic.
Please review the Carving Rules on our website very carefully!
