What you need to know about volunteering.

Being a volunteer with AIGA Blue Ridge is an opportunity to get involved with the inner workings of the Chapter and collaborate with people from all over. The biggest thing that we can do as a Chapter is acknowledge the help and dedication of our volunteers who make our Chapter events and activities run without a hitch. Volunteers make our Chapter what is it. From helping with registration at events to bringing an idea to full-blown fruition, these Chapter members are our lifeblood. Become one of them!

How much time are we talking about?
In short, as much as you’re willing to give! If you just want to help out with a single event, that’s great. If you have a killer event idea that you want to make happen, we’d love to help you realize it. It’s all up to you.

Do I have to be an AIGA member to volunteer?
While we are a membership focused organization, you do not have to be a member to volunteer with our events or join a committee. However, to become a board member you need to have a membership level of supporting or higher.

What’s in it for me?
Volunteers get free admission to events they help out with and they often have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with our speakers before or after the event. What is really valuable is the relationship building that comes with volunteering. You’ll be connected to the most active members of our Chapter and have the chance to meet creative professionals with all levels of experience across the region. We like to say that getting involved with the Chapter pays back in spades.

Alright, I’m in.
We’re always looking for members to get more involved and sometimes a great opportunity is just waiting for the right volunteer to take the lead. We would love to get to know a bit more about you to match you up with the best volunteer opportunity possible. If you’d like to get involved as a volunteer, shoot us an email at volunteer@aigablueridge.org.

We’re always open to new ways to get involved but some of our current needs for volunteers are…

Board Members

Serve on the local board and be at the helm of new ideas and amazing events. We meet on a monthly basis and always have fun sharing new ideas.

Committee Members

Whether you’re interested in getting involved as a committee member with one of our many programs, there’s always a place to get involved!

  1. Flux Competition Committee
  2. Portfolio Bootcamp Committee
  3. Essentials Committee
  4. Sponsorship & Partnership Committee

You’ve got an eye for photography and a rapid shutter finger to capture the moment. We’re always on the search for volunteer photographers to help us capture our events.

You’re an expert – we guarantee it. If you have something to share to the community, become a writer with AIGA Blue Ridge and share blog posts, new ideas and resources you’ve found! You can write just one, fifty or ten thousand blog posts and you will be credited for the brilliant ideas you share!

Event Volunteers

What makes our events so spectacular isn’t just the entertainment for the evening, but the volunteers who make the well-oiled machine run. Become a volunteer to assist in executing our events.

If you are interested in getting more involved with the Chapter, have any questions or want to chat with a current board member, get in touch with us at volunteer@aigablueridge.org.
